A Rome man is in the Gordon County jail after allegedly exposing himself and making unwanted physical contact with a female.

According to the Calhoun City Police:

Octavius Terance Curtis, 24, of Kingston Ave., Rome, is charged with sexual battery, giving a false name to a police officer and violation of the Georgia controlled substance act.

The report states that the suspect entered an apartment on Neal Street in Calhoun, where he "exposed himself and made unwanted physical contact with a female living at the location."

When officers arrived at the apartment, the suspect had left the scene. Using a description of the suspect, the officers located the man walking in the area.

Officers discovered a small amount of marijuana on the suspect and arrested him at the scene.

After receiving a positive identification, Curtis was charged with sexual battery.

He also faces a parole violation out of Floyd County on charges unrelated to the incident.

Curtis remains in the Gordon County Jail.
