Their demands include: stopping local-federal immigration enforcement partnerships; stopping attacks on workers and unions; halting the use of E-Verify, a federal database businesses can use to check the eligibility of new hires; and putting a stop to deportations.
Georgia was one of five states last year that passed tough laws targeting illegal immigration.
It's not clear how many people will show up for Tuesday's rally. A May Day demonstration last year drew about 1,000 people.
The groups are instructing participants to wear white T-shirts and to bring trash bags to clean up any litter generated by the rally.






I understand they need these people to work on the farms in South Ga. I also understand that alot of these people wish to better themselves. That all fine and well. Do it legally.
What about how much it cost taxpayers to pay for babies being born here to illegal immigrants? What about food stamps? What about the drugs being brought in to our country? etc???
This has gone on for years, now we're having to pay the price to clean it up. Stop by immigrantion first! Next stop should be, you want to contribute like the rest of us stop by and fill out your tax forms correctly.
