  • The existing industries committee plans to partner with the Calhoun College and Career Academy on May 1, 2012 to offer high school students an opportunity to develop employabil-ity skills through a job seminar event. The event will take place at the Calhoun Depot and Calhoun Civic Auditorium and will offer students the opportunity to develop their soft skills in the areas of job interview, communication, advertising and presenting yourself, work-place conflicts, and teamwork. In addition, students will be able to hear presentations from community members about workforce trends, skills for success, banking/finance, and local business outlook.

  • Everyone is invited to a Spirit –Fund Raising Night for Hunter Calvert on Tuesday May 1st. It will be at Jandy’s Yogurt next to Little Ceasars Pizza. The hours will be from 4pm-10pm. They have changed their spirit night rules now so you need to make sure you tell the cashier that you are there for “Hound for Hunter, or Hunter” and they will print your receipt. Then the manager will donate 10 percent of the total from the receipts from that time frame. Hunter will be there from 4 until about 7 if all goes okay. We hope to see you there to hang out, eat, and socialize!

  • Pleasant Valley Baptist Church in Adairsville will be hosting a revival April 30-May 3. The services will begin at 7:30 p.m. each evening. Sammy Hall will be bringing the messages. Pastor Brent Tatum and congregation invite all to attend.

  • Pentecost Revival on Pleasant Valley Rd. in Adairsville will be held April 29 through May 6. It will begin at 11 a.m. and 6 p.m. on Sundays and 7 p.m. nightly. There will be different ministers each night. For more information, call Ruby at 770-773-3436 or Frank at 770-877-3536.
