The Harris Arts Center seeks talented performers to audition for the third annual Calhoun’s Got Talent competition.

The first place winner will receive $1000, second place, $500 and third place, $250. Auditions are scheduled for April 30, May 1 and May 2, beginning at 5:30 pm. There is no charge to audition. Anyone age 16 or older is eligible.

Last year, 24 artists were chosen to perform in the first of three competitions.

Talent ranged from singing and dancing to playing an instrument and impersonating Elvis.

A panel of qualified judges chooses the initial cast, but on the night of the performance, audience votes decide which contestants move on to the second and third show. Performance dates are July 21, July 28 and Aug. 4 at 7 p.m. The shows have played to sold-out audiences for the past two years.

Any talent will be considered. Not only soloists, but duets, quintets or bands are encouraged to try out.

Audition forms may be obtained by visiting the Harris Arts Center at 212 South Wall Street or by calling 706 629-2599.
