The automotive training program at Gordon Central High School, under the guidance of is instructor, Shane Cloer, has obtained accreditation by the National Automotive Technicians Education Foundation (NATEF) and The National Institute for Automotive Service Excellence (ASE).

Gordon Central’s automotive training program underwent rigorous evaluation by the NATEF using nationally accepted standards of excellence in areas such as instruction, facilities, and equipment, to achieve recognition.

“This is great news for automotive-minded young people and their parents,” said Donald Seyfer, NATEF Chair. “Because this program increases cooperation between local education and industry leaders, it gives added assurance that Gordon Central’s automotive program graduates will be employable entry-level technicians. As a result of the quality education provided by Gordon Central, the motoring public will benefit since better repair technicians will join the work force,” he said.

Upon completion of the evaluation NATEF recommended Gordon Central for accreditation by the ASE, who is a national nonprofit organization which tests and certifies repair technicians, in addition to accrediting automotive training programs.

Mr. Cloer has worked closely with NATEF to make certain the Gordon Central program would meet strict industry standards.

Gordon Central’s automotive program will join the ranks of the prestigious ASE accredited training programs.

Because of this recognition students will not only be assured of a quality education, but also, employers will be assured they are getting quality job applicants.
