Gordon Hospital officials are pleased to announce that Lanell Jacobs has been selected to serve as Director of Oncology Services at the hospital.

According to Steve Hannah, chief operating officer for Gordon Hospital, Jacobs’ knowledge and experience will be invaluable in the development of the new Radiation Therapy Center currently under construction on the hospital’s campus.

“Lanell brings with her a wealth of experience in hospital administration and her role will include developing and promoting all cancer services offered by Gordon Hospital in addition to the new radiation therapy center.” Hannah says. “We are very blessed that she decided to join our team as we build our oncology program here at Gordon Hospital.”

As a breast cancer survivor since 2002, Jacobs is passionate about promoting quality cancer care. She has served as vice president for clinical services at Florida Hospital Heartland Division in Sebring, FL and vice president for oncology services at Memorial Hospital in Chattanooga, TN. Most recently, Jacobs has assisted Florida Hospital Heartland Division and Florida Hospital Zephyrhills in the development and building of comprehensive Breast Centers. Jacobs holds a Bachelor of Science Degree in Nursing and a Master of Science

Degree in Healthcare Administration. She and her husband, Douglas, reside in Ooltewah, Tenn. She is the mother of two daughters, Janell and Katie, and in her spare time she enjoys reading, traveling, shelling, and kayaking. But her greatest interest, she says, is people.
