The Gordon County Master Gardener Association will host a plant sale Saturday, April 28. at the Calhoun First United Methodist Church parking lot from 9 a.m. until the plants are sold. Volunteers will be available to answer your questions about plants. There will be plants for the sun, plants for the shade, and many varieties of Japanese Maples and other trees.
The Starlettes Relay for Life Team will be hosting a Horse Shoe tournament at the VFW Saturday, April 28. Registration will begin at 11 a.m. and the tournament will begin at noon. There will be prizes for the top three finishers. All proceeds from the tournament will go to support the American Cancer Society. Cost of admission is $10 per player. Gordon County 4-H will hold its Rabies Clinic on Saturday, April 28. For a cost of $10 per cat or dog, Doctors Jay and Betsy Hendley will give rabies shots and offer other vaccina-tions. Times and locations are as follows: Calhoun High School 8-9 a.m., Belwood School 9:15-10:15 a.m., Sonoraville School 10:30 a.m. - 12:00 p.m., Fairmount School 1:15-2:15 p.m., Oak-man Fire Station 2:30-3 p.m., and Red Bud School 3:15-4:30 p.m.
Heritage Baptist Church will be having a Car Show on Saturday, April 28, 2012 from 8 a.m.- 2 p.m. to benefit the youth of Heritage Baptist Church. Pastor Rev. Stoner Chapel Baptist Church will be having an annual singing Saturday, April 28, beginning at 7 p.m. The singing will feature Debra Perry and Jaidyn’s Call, and the Jordan Family.
