  • The 10th Annual Relay For Life Fashion Show is scheduled for Sunday, April 22 at 2 p.m. We are excited this year to announce our new venue of the lovely downtown Gem Theater.   • The Starlettes Relay for Life Team will be hosting a corn hole tournament Saturday, April 21, at the American Legion Post 47. Registration for the tournament will begin at 1 p.m. fol-lowed by the tournament at 2 p.m. During the corn hole tournament, the Starlettes will be selling hamburger and hot dog plates as well as opportunities for prizes. There will be a first, second and third place prize. All proceeds from the tournament will go to support the American Cancer Society. Cost of admission is $10 per player.   • There will be a "Cruise In" in downtown Calhoun April 21. The group will meet on Court Street beginning at 6 p.m. There'll be a meet and greet from 6-8 p.m. The Calhoun Hot Dog House and the Sweet Spot will remain open. Then at 8 p.m., the group will enjoy a classic film at the GEM theatre "American Graffiti" rated PG. Admission to the Gem is free. This will be a great family activity. Everyone is invited to attend.

  • Victory Fellowship Center, of Calhoun, will be hosting a first ever scholarship banquet Saturday, April 21 beginning at 5 p.m. at the Palladium in Rome, Ga. Georgia Supreme Court Justice Robert Benham will be the guest speaker for the event to raise money for scholarships to go to local college-bound students. Table or individual sponsorships are available. Adult tickets cost $40, students $25, tables of eight $300 or corporate sponsorships for $500. All donations are tax deductible.   • The Gordon County Singing Convention will hold the spring singing on Saturday, April 21, at Pleasant Hill Baptist Church. The church is located east of Calhoun just off state highway 156 (Red Bud Rd) on Pleasant Hill Rd. There will be a covered dish meal at 5:30 p.m. followed by the singing at 6:30 p.m. All singers and listeners are invite to attend.

  • Jesus is the Way will be hosting a Saturday night singing, April 21, beginning at 6 p.m. The Baker Family will be singing and preaching. Everyone is welcome.
