SNELLVILLE, Ga. (AP) — Gwinnett County school officials are recommending that a high school football coach's contract not be renewed as the district investigates how athletes were recruited to the school.

School system spokeswoman Sloan Roach says that in late March, the Georgia High School Association contacted Shiloh High School regarding alleged recruitment violations.

Roach tells The Gwinnett Daily Post that the school system then began investigating recruitment practices at the school.

Roach said that Shiloh coach Brian Montgomery was notified Monday that the district would recommend to the school board that his contract not be renewed.

Montgomery has been temporarily reassigned to the district's Instructional Support Center in Suwanee. Montgomery could not be reached for comment on Wednesday.
