Former Calhoun softball standout and current Shorter third-baseman Bre Johnson (pictured, left) continued her stellar 2012 campaign on Friday with a three-run home run in Shorter's 10-1 victory over Thomas.

It was Johnson's seventh home run of the season for the Lady Hawks who are now 34-7 on the season.

The junior third baseman is batting .336 on the season with 31 RBIs, seven doubles and a .571 slugging percentage.

As a sophomore in 2011, Johnson hit .320 with four home runs, 11 doubles and 25 RBIs.

Johnson wrapped up a stellar career at Calhoun in 2008 where she was a key member of the Lady Jackets' squad that finished as the state runner-up to Buford.

She was a multi-year member of the Rome News-Tribune All-Area Team and holds two school records at Calhoun. She has the most doubles in a single season with 14 in 2007, and also had a single-season record 53 RBIs that same year.

Johnson and the Hawks are back in action this Friday where they will host Emmanuel for a doubleheader starting at 5 p.m. at Alto Park. They will then be back on the field on Saturday for a doubleheader against Southern Wesleyan for Senior Day festivities.
