The Sonoraville Middle School FFA Poultry Judging Team did an outstanding job representing themselves at the Area 1 contest. The junior team came away with 1st place after competing against 18 other teams from surrounding FFA chapters. Each member faced and met the challenge of displaying their knowledge of today’s poultry industry through class selections of live chickens, interior and exterior egg qualities, and ready-to-cook poultry products.

FFA members who composed the team are Makayla Holmes, Caroline Magill, Emilee Ross and Brady O’Neal. Out of the 66 junior students who competed, Holmes was named the 2nd place high individual, Magill was the 3rd place high individual, O’Neal was 5th place high individual and Ross was 10th place high individual. All members did a terrific job at the contest and look forward to participating in the Georgia FFA State Poultry Judging contest next month at Oglethorpe High School.

This is increasingly becoming a very exciting year for members of the Sonoraville Middle FFA chapter with Poultry being named the second team this week earning the opportunity to compete in an event on the state level.
