According to the Calhoun Police Department:
Ashleigh Lashay Derringer, 21, of Dalton, is charged with prostitution.
Sky Kincaid, 25, also of Dalton, is charged with pimping, possession of marijuana (less than 1 ounce) and drug related objects.
According to the report, Kincaid drove Derringer to the Motel 6 on Highway 53, while "knowing or should have known that the transportation was for the purpose of prostitution."
The report states that Derringer willfully offered or consented to sexual acts in exchange for $300 cash.
Kincaid was allegedly found with less than an ounce of marijuana and a glass pipe when he was arrested.

Exactly...and is the precise reason I ignore reading anything morOn has to say.
I don't know these peoples circumstances that would lead them to such a degrading state. However, wouldn't it be horrible to have to tell your child one day, mommy was arrested for prostitution? Or daddy was arrested for pimping?
What about S.T.D.'s? Has everyone forgot about those? What about the fact this will always be part of their life?
What happened to wanting to be able to bring the gift of purity to your partner on your wedding night?
What if women thought they were worth more than a dinner and a movie and men did too??
Yes, we don’t know their individual circumstances, but we do know from the letters of the Apostle Paul speaking about people who willfully choose to forget or ignore God: “Wherefore God also gave them up to uncleanness through the lusts of their own hearts, to dishonor their own bodies between themselves”
STDs are the predictable physical result of their actions, and certainly there are physiological effects as well. Again Paul says: “so they experience among themselves the punishment they deserve for their perversion.”
Our “dusty old book” as vishnu often calls it is so completely relevant today as ever! Nothing affects the psyche of a person so negatively as falling into sexual perversion. As Paul said: Any other sin, which a person commits, is one outside the body, but they who commit sexual immorality sin against their own body.
After further thought and reflection on what you said, the quote (G.K. Chesterton, interesting man, but no atheist,) I had an epiphany that you may be right. Heck, I even went to church today. Thanks for your wonderful insight!
FYI: Leviticus wasn’t a person. It’s a title for the book and came from the Greek Septuagint. It means, “relating to the Levites.” The Hebrew title is Wayyiqra’ and means “And the Lord called.” There’s another little contradiction about my old Book you can add to your arsenal. However, if you’re going to critique, at least get the facts first. Interestingly, Leviticus does contain a direct prohibition against prostitution.
I assert again, we are a people born and ruined in sin. As a renowned atheist has rightly said: (paraphrased here) the only point of Christian theology that can be absolutely proven is original sin. Anyone who has spent time with a three year old knows it for certain!
It seems fitting to close with a passage from Paul’s letter to the Ephesians: “I'm asking God to give you a gift from the wealth of his glory. I pray that he would give you inner strength and power through his Spirit. Then Christ will live in you through faith. I also pray that love may be the ground into which you sink your roots and on which you have your foundation. This way, with all of God's people you will be able to understand how wide, long, high, and deep his love is. You will know Christ's love, which goes far beyond any knowledge. I am praying this so that you may be completely filled with God.”
It beats the “noodly appendage!”
May the FSM bless you with his noodly appendage. :-)
However, of this I am absolutely certain: I have never claimed my “old book” is inerrant! In fact, I can take you through the pages and point out a number of contradictions and oddities that are only explainable as errors in the written text. Maybe some learned sage could school me with an acceptable clarification of these inaccuracies. I’m waiting.
You need not make more of these errors than is necessary for your beloved sport of mocking those of faith, as I have never found one that in any way detracts from the central theme of the Book. Show me another work that has some 40 authors and was composed over a period of approximately 1600 years that is so completely consistent in its message; that is our complete and total ruin in sin and God’s graceful plan for our redemption!
Now for an explanation of what religious people have done in the name of God while using the Bible as justification for unspeakable acts against their fellow man, please refer to my previous rants about religion. Don’t be perishing my friend. Cheers!
Fortunately for you, I'm not out to persecute you for what you say or your right to worship, just mock it. Pretty sure I wasn't giving out an absolute in what I said; I was trying to point out the inconsistency in your statement. How do you overcome your dissonance of the Bible being "perfectly" delivered to foulable mortals, who wrote it down (and naturally "fouled" it up, being what they are,) and the contradiction of that very same Bible being the inerrant word of God (as so many have said as justification for their actions?) Thinking it though, it would seem that book isn't as inerrant as it's made out to be. Heck, it could even be wrong. *gasp* Most likely, it's just outdated.
Oh well, don't worry about it. There are better things to think about, like information backup tech! Cloud storage is a good method to back up stuff, but might I suggest an external usb hard drive? Thumb drives and/or burning the files to a good ol' DVD might also be good alternatives. Have fun!
BTW: I couldn’t let this one pass without a revisit:

Pity those who would deal in absolutes; who, in ignorance, contempt and "moral" superiority, judge and condemn a person based on what they've done without knowing why they did it

vishnu – I am pondering your last post in the light of it’s own absoluteness. Maybe I can work my way through it.
Ain't them compooter boxes grand? Just remember to practice safe storage and back up those "important" files! Saved by the smart techno pigs!
God "perfectly" delivered his word? Amusing. You'd think he'd come back (He used to show up in person all those millennia ago for many, so why not now?) and straighten things out if it got screwed up. I guess it can be truly said he made us in his image (or it was the other way around, most likely.) Don't throw me on the cart! I'm not dead yet.
FYI: God perfectly delivered his word to foulable mortals; hey, you work with what you’ve got. And that your quote would refer to one dusty old translation as “a good thing” may indicate there is hope for you after all. Don’t be perishing my friend!
You keep records on all this nonsense? Wow, talk about too much time on your hands. Oh well, get me the link to the article as well, if you would.
I'm also aware of how a god is able to preserve his/her word. Too bad he hasn't taken the time to get the Ultimate Word out to supercede the KJV. You's think that he take the time to correct the mistakes, contradictions, and obvious misunderstandings men put in the earlier version. Seriously, 400 years is a long time without an editor. Shame.
You know what would be funny? He shows up and tells everyone he liked the Geneva Bible more. "Shakespeare used this one, you pillocks! Why muck about with a good thing?"
I also agree that it is somewhat relevant today - especially when so many like to bash people over the head with it.
Please accept my earnest apology for mischaracterizing the author of the original sin quote. I have corrected my file. Kudos on the research!
As to my “wonderful insight,” I have to tell you, there is nothing praiseworthy that I can claim inherently, because it truly is as the Apostle Paul said: “This life that I live now, I live by faith in the Son of God, who loved me and gave his life for me.” And in another place he simply yet masterfully described it as: “Christ in you, the hope of glory.” Hope is a wonderful thing and I highly recommend it.
But speaking to the current article: the Libertarian purist will tell you this was just a business transaction between two consenting adults and should in no way be illegal; no different than one neighbor selling a heifer to another for an agreed price. As I previously said: what she agreed to do was perfectly legal as long as no money changed hands. I do not fail to see the hypocrisy of that situation.
On a personal level, I am not advocating for legalized prostitution as I think it is harmful to all parties involved. But I also think sexual activity outside of the traditional marriage arrangement is equally harmful. Yet I cannot in good conscience force my personal morality on others. However, all laws are a reflection of somebody’s morality; and as a society we have deemed prostitution a detriment.
I guess you can say we have compromised our traditional morals and struck all laws relating to adultery and fornication between consenting adults from the books; but have retained the prohibition against making money from these activities.
No doubt I will be accused of condensing the tragic life of those involved in prostitution down to an academic discussion, heartless I know, but this is new territory for the comment board, as I don’t recall another case like this in our little corner of the world recently.
Hope they have someone to get them both on a better track in life.
rt_elm - Do you have any sympathy for anyone? Or do you ever come down from that throne you've put yourself on long enough to think of anyone else? Just saying, always some condescending remark from you. You should read your own post sometime.
She obviously doesn't realize her self worth. Hope she gets some help.
We all know whatever she was going to do was perfectly legal (if immoral) but when she agreed to do it for money it became a crime. She is now suffering the consequences of her actions.
I will agree with you this girl needs help. But the type of help she needs must start from within.
Now if the conversation is whether what she tried to do should be illegal, that is another matter altogether.
The "pill" and the hippie era was many years before Reagan ever took the Oval Office.
Like most Liberals/Democrats, you play with false facts and distort the truth to try and make inaccurate points to deceive the American people.
Our "moral decay began when Reagan took office?" I thought it was the "free drug" and "love child" generation that occurred during Kennedy/LBJ era during the Hippie Vietnam War Protest movement era.
