Representatives from New Echota River Alliance, Cherokee Cycles, the Gordon County Convention and Visitors Bureau, and Downtown Calhoun were on hand to welcome more than 300 bicycle racers to Gordon County recently.

In previous years, the Tundra Time Trial has been held on the Silver Comet Trail. This year event organizers, Surge Sports decided to change the venue, partially due to conflicts in scheduling, to Gordon County.

The race was held on an 8.25 mile loop near Pine Chapel. Organizers stated that they appreciated Crane Eater Community Church for allowing the race headquarters to be set up in its parking lot.

The cool morning brought many teams and individuals to compete in North Georgia.

Dan McBee, director of NERA, stated that the average racer and their families are estimated to have spent between $100 and $200 each. That is an estimated $30,000 to $60,000 infusion into the local economy during the race weekend.

To whoever keeps posting and getting deleted. Please don’t give up, as I’m genuinely interested in your opinion. Just take a breath and figure out a way to express your rage without getting dumped by the moderator.

At least the spandex-wearing-pedal-pushing-2-wheeled-plague is infecting a different part of the county this time rather than the usual route. I really tire of them clogging the roads in our area during their little outings. The stragglers are the worse!

Elms a.k.a Calhoun Times Troll Boi is at it again ain't you Troll Boi, spreading(Trying too) haterade in anyway possible. Again you Failed!

I doubt you get tired of anything but being in your bubble were you troll the web(mainly the times) 24/7 spewing hate for something that clearly effects you in no-way at all. Take a SHUT up pill and go back growing your butt while you sit by waiting on the big one, Troll Boi. The only thing clogging the roads around these parts are the Sunday drivers driving everyday but Sunday like they are the only one around for miles while backing up traffic doing 40 MPH in a 55MPH zone driving over the yellow line looking the other way. Maybe how thats how you got familiar with "Stragglers" in spandex. You know from behind a nice butt is a nice butt and fellers like you might want to make the switch!!!

But then again, the ones in the back are not nice and tight like the butt's up front, thats why they are stragglers. Could be it's the only one you can keep up with while amusing your self!

You should invest some time on how peer review evaluation works. Simply stating your "cautiousness" is somewhat telling about your cognitive dissonance. Can't have science bursting any more religious bubbles, can we?

vishnu – I’m cautious of learned men (and women) with graying beards; who have a lifetime invested into a psychology that, as a practical matter, perishes with them. Not dismissing out of hand some benefit, just acknowledging the temporal nature of such. The fact that even Harold Camping has humbly admitted he was wrong is evidence enough to dismiss cognitive dissonance as just another psych-theory; and that you would use it to circumvent the issue of religion vs. Jesus falls into the category of predictable. The video is an accurate presentation of my premise, though I’m not as young, hip or ethnic, in my view it crosses these barriers and illustrates my point perfectly. Is there anything in your belief system that can accomplish something so positive? (don’t tell me spandex laden pedal-power) At least you gave it a look-see and are hereby released from the catch. Cheers!

Hmm, catchy spoken word tune. Ultimately though, that kid is suffering some serious cognitive dissonance (and anyone else who thinks similarly.)

vishnu – Fishing is indeed “fun” and sometimes even a simpleton such as I can snag one. Your penalty for hitting on that lure is to visit the following link, give it a thorough review with that fertile mind of yours and report back for the release portion of the catch. Enjoy!

@rt_elms

Color me surprised at the lack of religion from you, after past bits of sparring betwixt us over such issues. When did this come about or was that just a little bit of fun at my expense?

Also, you of course realize that hazards to navigation, rolling or otherwise, have simple solutions: you go around them. Cyclists have the same right to the road as you do. They also may be back over there next year too. Enjoy the show as it goes by, for goodness sake.

vishnu – Don’t misread too much into my rant, as I lost my religion years ago. Truly one of the best days of my life! However, our area of the county seems to draw these pedal-heads like a magnet every spring without fail. I will confess to NIMBY because it is Always-In-My-Back-Yard. I’m just proud they found another locale in which to exercise their pedal-power. To some they may represent an economic influx, but to me they generally represent a rolling hazard to navigation.

failure – They make an ointment for that, you should really give it a try.

So, why would you discourage business from the county simply to play a NIMBY? Where's your sense of fun as well? You disappoint me with your poor attitude towards these people. I'm starting to think you're just one of those fair-weather Christians.

Peer Review = A group of foxes discussing how best to guard the henhouse.

BTW: I encourage bursting all the religious bubbles you can, as religion enslaves; and being a slave is a definite negative to the human psyche. Jesus sets you free and I have yet to hear an adequate argument against freedom!
