Sheriff: three Plainville residents involved in meth, racketeering and conspiracy

A month-long investigation is coming to fruition with the arrest of three Plainville residents and the confiscation of more than 50 firearms.

According to the Gordon County Sheriff's Office:

Stephen Todd Perry, 37, of 932 Moores Ferry Road, Plainville, is charged under the RICO act with conspiracy to traffic in methamphetamine, party to the crime of trafficking in methamphetamine, sale of methamphetamine, sale of schedule IV drugs.

Terrie Leigh Swift, 23, of 1570 Moores Ferry Road, Plainville, is charged under the RICO act with conspiracy to traffic in methamphetamine, trafficking in methamphetamine, sale of methamphetamine.

Wayne Spencer Swingle, 28, of 1570 Moores Ferry Road, Plainville, is charged under the RICO act with conspiracy to traffic in methamphetamine, trafficking in methamphetamine, sale of methamphetamine, party to the crimes of sale of methamphetamine and schedule IV drugs.

Sheriff's detectives are still seeking several others in connection with the investigation that was initiated last month.

During the execution of a search warrant on the two homes, and a warehouse behind one of the homes, on Moores Ferry Road, detectives and deputies seized more than 50 firearms, including assault rifles and hand guns, ammunition, methamphetamine and closed circuit electronic surveillance equipment.

Detectives also found a shooting target of a male with a Sheriff's badge drawn on it.

According to the Sheriff's Office, a bulk of the 50 firearms and the target with the sheriff's badge were found in the warehouse behind the residence on Moores Ferry Road.

The methamphetamine and schedule IV drugs were found inside the actual residence, according to detective reports.

"Our detective unit worked long hours putting this case together. It involved many hours of outdoor surveillance, undercover work, and an array of affidavits and warrants," said Gordon County Sheriff Mitch Ralston. "The deputies who executed the search and arrest warrants did so effectively, apprehending the defendants while insuring no one, innocent or otherwise, was hurt. These defendants will now go into the court system to answer to a jury of people from our community."

what i don't get about all this. is someone postes a comment and say something serious and true. it gets deleted. the stuff i posted was not wrong it was how it is with the courts. when they catch people with crimes that r just in a wrong place wrong time. instead of helping them they send them to prison. and they come out worse then when they went in, for having to fight for everything in prison. but yet when they lock the people up that really just need help, they let the child molesters out, seams like child molesters get away with the most. get out of it. now why is that? kinda messed up.

I didn’t read your post but you apparently ruffled the wrong feathers. The Times moderates this board reasonably well, which serves to keeps most of the conversations civil, with a few exceptions. Now if you just want to vent, go to one of the unmoderated national boards and let it rip!

To your point: it sounds like you are advocating for the decriminalization of drug use with treatment in lieu of jail-time. Funny, Pat Robinson recently said the same thing.

Todd Perry was a really good kid when he was growing up in Shannon. It is so so so sad that drugs has ruined these young peoples lives...i pray that this will make them realize they r out of control and straighten their lives up.

Plainville , Meth Capitail of Georgia and the king, queen and joker have been taken down.
