WILD GAME SUPPER Being hosted by Hill City Baptist Church on March 3 at 6:00 p.m. Lot of food, games and family fun. Guest speaker will be Wayne Marcus. Everyone is invited to attend.
Church of God of the Union Assembly, located across from the Calhoun Wal-mart, is hosting a revival Friday, March 2 at 7 p.m., Saturday, March 3 at 7 p.m. and Sunday, March 4 at 10:30 a.m. and 6 p.m. Rev. Jason Bell and Corey Cassell will be speaking. There will be special singing. Everyone is invited.
There will be a benefit Saturday, March 3 at the Sugar Valley Community Center (3625 Sugar Valley Rd) to help raise money for the funeral of Betty Joe Burgess. There will be a yard sale 8 a.m.- 5p.m. and the benefit will be 5-10 p.m. Activities will include a cake walk ($1), raffle tickets ($1), plates for all ages ($5), an auction and gospel singers. All proceeds will go to Thomas Funeral Home to cover the balance of funeral costs.
The GEM Theatre & Harris Arts Center present "American Classics" March 3. The GEM and Harris Arts Center are partnering to bring The Chamber Players of the South to Calhoun. The show, titled "American Classics Concert," will feature Gershwin's Rhapsody in Blue & Copland's Appalachian Spring. Tickets are $20, $18 for HAC and GEM members. The Mitch Ralston Sheriff’s Auxiliary is hosting the 4th annual public safety basketball challenge March 3 beginning a 5 p.m. in the Sonoraville High School gym. The Calhoun City Police, Calhoun Fire, Gordon County Fire Departments and Gordon County Sheriff’s Office will be participating in the City versus County event. Concessions will be sold with proceeds going toward The Winner’s Club and the Sheriff’s Auxiliary. Admission is free and donations will be accepted.
