GBI special agent Jim Fullington tells The Athens Banner-Herald that an autopsy has determined that Charles Stephen Parker may have been in the well since the day he went missing more than a month ago.
Parker was reported missing on Jan. 16 and was last seen in Clarke County on Jan. 15.
Investigators found the man's partially decomposed body in a well at an abandoned house in the Sandy Cross community of Oglethorpe County. Fullington said Parker had been shot more than once.
Parker, who lived in Monroe with his wife, was an assistant manager at a Bank of America branch in Athens and a Sunday school teacher.
