ATLANTA (AP) — All students registered to vote in Georgia would be able to use their college IDs to check in at the polls under a bill approved by House lawmakers.

Democratic Rep. Alisha Thomas Morgan's bill approved Thursday would add ID cards from private colleges and universities to the list of documents accepted at polling stations.

Morgan said students at public colleges and universities can already use their school ID cards because they are state-issued.

The bill passed by a vote of 122-35. It now heads to the state Senate.
