Parth Parakash Patel, 19, of 1118 Pembrook Lane in Chattanooga, was charged Jan. 20 by FBI and task force agents with child molestation and aggravated child molestation in Dalton “after coming to the attention of undercover officers on the Internet,” according to an FBI release.
“Patel arranged for and traveled in an attempt to meet the ‘mother’ and her ‘minor child’ for purposes of having sex,” said Brian D. Lamkin, special agent in charge of the Atlanta FBI office. “He was met instead by FBI agents and task force officers of the FBI’s Northwest Georgia Safe Child Task Force.”
Patel was released on a $75,000 bond on Jan. 21, a Whitfield County jail spokeswoman said.
Anuer Landaverde, 22, of Norcross, was charged Friday by FBI and task force agents with attempted aggravated child molestation (two counts) and violation of the Computer Pornography Act (two counts) after attempting to meet with a minor child in Ringgold to have sex, a release stated.
Landaverde remained in the Catoosa County Jail on Monday afternoon, according to online records of the Catoosa County Sheriff’s Office.
An Ooltewah, Tenn., man was charged Thursday night by the FBI with computer or electronic pornography, child molestation and criminal attempt to commit aggravated child molestation (four counts) after traveling to Chatsworth in an attempt to have sex with a minor.
Michael Robert Doan, 51, of 6913 Spinmaker Cove, remained in the Murray County jail Monday afternoon, a spokeswoman said, adding a bond appearance in Superior Court had not been scheduled.
