The Gordon County Chamber of Commerce will present its 52nd Annual Meeting and Officer Installation Banquet at 7 p.m. Thursday, Jan. 19, at the Sonoraville Recreation Center. House Speaker David Ralston will appear as the keynote speaker and the Chamber will install its 2012 Executive Board during the event, expected to draw several hundred guests.

Outgoing Chairman of the Board Dewayne Bowen, a financial advisor for Edward Jones, will relinquish his Chamber position as he installs rising Chairman of the Board David Scoggins, Director of Accounting and Auditing Practices at Winter & Scoggins, CPAs.

Scoggins will then install Kenny Fuquea and David Repp. Fuquea, Strategic Market Development Director for Santek Environmental, Inc. will be the 2012 Vice-Chairman of the Board. Repp, Senior Manager in the Strategic Planning and Analysis area at Mohawk Industries, will be the 2012 Secretary-Treasurer.

“The Gordon County Chamber of Commerce is very excited about the opportunities that 2012 will bring and knows that this executive board will lead its board of directors, membership and staff through a successful year,” said Chamber President Jimmy Phillips.

The 2012 Gordon County Board of Directors will consist of professionals representing a variety of interests in the Calhoun-Gordon County business community. Bowen will serve on the Board of Directors as past chairman and his companion members will be: Chrissy Bryant (Milliken & Company), Kelly Bumgardner (Calhoun City Schools), Scott Clements (Gordon County Tax Commissioner), Russell Davis (Mohawk Industries), Nathan Murphy (NorthSide Bank of Calhoun), Dr Amy Parker (Gordon County Schools/Gordon County College and Career Academy), Charles Prater (Prater Ford, Inc.), Suzanne Roland (Calhoun Downtown Development Authority), Raina Sanford (Gordon Hospital), Frank Sullivan (Retired Transportation Executive), Clint Thomas (Shaw Industries Group) and Bill Thompson (Attorney at Law).

Jeff Gazaway (Evco Plastics), Debra Guinter (DRO Management), Dr. Michele Taylor (Calhoun City Schools) and Jesse Vaughn (Vaughn & Clements, LLC) will retire as Board Members but remain active with the Chamber.

David Ralston, 73rd Speaker of the Georgia House of Representatives since January 2010, will be the keynote speaker for the banquet. A native of Ellijay, Georgia, Ralston represents Fannin and Gilmer Counties, and a portion of Dawson County. Tickets are available at the Gordon County Chamber of Commerce.
