An Emerson woman is charged with the theft of approximately $20,492 from a church charity in Cartersville.

According to Cartersville police reports:

Nicole Abernathy, 35, is charged with 55 counts of theft by conversion for allegedly embezzling funds from June 2010 to August 2011.

Abernathy was the treasurer of God's Little Sprouts based in Cartersville.
