Businesses participating in the Toys for Tots initiative this year are hoping every child will have a present to unwrap this Christmas.

Four local businesses will be accepting donations on behalf of Toys for Tots: Envision Gems & Jewelry at 203 West Belmont Drive; Animal Hospital of Gordon County, located at 501 Red Bud Road, Mother Nature’s Eden at 220 S. Wall Street and Landry Chiropractic Center at 705 Red Bud Road.

All locations will be taking donations until Christmas Eve.

Envision Gems & Jewelry spokesperson, Chris Mockett, wanted to do something to help the community and its children during the holiday season.

“I decided to get involved with Toys for Tots,” said Mockett. “I wanted to make sure the toys stayed local, so that the people that donated in our community and that our community would be the recipients.”

Mockett stressed that all toys should be new and unwrapped and that they will need volunteers for distributing the toys, too.

“We will distribute them through a few churches and any excess will go to Stacy Long at the VAC,” said Mockett.
