Tuesday’s runoff election for city council post 2 drew only 120 voters, but the results were definitive, with Rogers coming away with the seat.
According to the Gordon County Board of Elections results, the race between incumbent Linda Sledge Johnson and Rogers ended with Johnson receiving 50 votes, or 41.67 percent of the total vote, and Rogers receiving 70 votes, or 58.33 percent.
The two finished almost neck-and-neck in the November elections; Johnson came away with 39.4 percent of the vote, and Rogers had 40.3 percent in that three-candidate race, necessitating the runoff.
