MACON, Ga. (AP) — Bibb County sheriff's officials say a nude suspect shot a man to death and then aimed his gun at a deputy, who opened fire and killed him.

Officials say the gunman refused to drop his weapon and pointed it at the law officer.

The Telegraph of Macon

reports that the gunman was killed shortly after 10 p.m. Thursday, after deputies responded to reports of a screaming nude man banging on windows and doors of residences on Brookhaven Road.

Authorities say that before deputies arrived, 65-year-old Glen Edward Moore had kicked in the door of one home and shot 75-year-old Henry Marvin Mitchum to death.

Sheriff's officials say Moore was still standing over Mitchum's body when they say he pointed the gun at a deputy, who shot and killed him.
