GCP&R 8U Cherokee Bowl Highlights

Bulldogs (18) vs. Bills (12)

Bulldogs: The Bulldogs advance to the semifinals after defeating the Bills by a touchdown. Impact players on the night for the Bulldogs were B. McGinnis rushing for 121 yards on 7 carries and scoring 2 touchdowns. Defensively McGinnis recorded a game high 5 tackles to lead his team to victory. B. Dowdy also added a spark offensively with an 11 yard touchdown, and B. Bakken recorded 3 tackles to sum up the night for the Bulldogs.

Bills: Bills fall short in a close one!! Leaving it all on the field, N. Beddington and

K. Baucom accumulated 120 yards rushing on 4 carries and scored a touchdown each to sum up the Bills’ offensive stats on the night. Defensively K. Baucom led the Bills also with 4 tackles, L. Mathis and R. Medders both recovered a fumble. Mathis also caught an interception to sum up the night for the Bills. Longhorns (32) vs. Wildcats (0)

Longhorns: The Longhorns productivity was widespread offensively with 4 different players finding the end zone. R. Dickenson scored 2 touchdowns, R. Washington rushed for 1 touchdown, N. Kowalski scored 1 touchdown and added an extra point, and D. Lindsey scored a touchdown and added an extra point to sum up the night for the Longhorns offense resulting in a convincing win over the Wildcats. Defensively N. Kowalski tied for the game high recording 4 tackles and D. Lindsey had 3 solo tackles to sum up the night for the Longhorns. Longhorns advance!!

Wildcats: C. Gross tied for the game high recording 4 tackles and Cade Fisher added 3 tackles to sum up the night for the Wildcats as their season comes to a close. Canes (28) vs. Vikings (0)

Canes: D. Padgett rushed for 1 touchdown and added an extra point on the night. C. Quarles added a spark scoring a touchdown and added an extra point, and O. Darnell led the Canes’ ground attack scoring 2 touchdowns. G. Mullins rushed for 30 yards and added 2 extra points. Canes accumulated 255 yards rushing between 5 players on the offensive side of the ball resulting in a convincing win over the Vikings. On the Defensive side they were stingy as the Canes advance.

Vikings: W. Bohannon recorded a team high 2 tackles on the night as the Vikings season comes to an end. 9&10 Cherokee Bowl Highlights

Eagles (0) vs. Falcons (12)

Eagles: The Eagles offense moved the ball but just couldn’t seem to punch it in to put points on the board resulting in a loss and the end of their season. T. Foster and H. Steely rushed for 112 yards combined and 7 tackles between the two clearly standing out as the Eagles impact players on the night. Z. Ferguson also added 4 tackles for the Eagles defense, and J. Rogers recovered a fumble to sum up the stats for the Eagles on the night. On Behalf of Gordon County Parks and Recreation we would like to THANK the Eagles’ Coaching Staff, parents, and players for participating in the 2011 Football Program.

Falcons: D. Bass was an impact player for the Falcons on offense and defense. Bass had a pick six (30 yard interception return for touchdown), and offensively Bass ran for the bulk of the yards on the second scoring drive as the recipient of a trick play called by T.J. Bass. Bass had 123 all purpose yards on the night. Defensively W. Conley recorded a game high 6 tackles and C. Marycz was on his heels with 5 tackles to sum up the Falcons victory over the Eagles.

Saints (12) vs. Colts (7)

Saints: The Saints were led by J. Attoh an impact player on both sides of the ball rushing for 82 yards on 4 carries and scoring 2 touchdowns, and defensively recording 5 tackles. D. Snowden recorded a game high 6 tackles and L. Wilcox added 4 tackles to sum up the stats for the Saints as they advance to the semifinals.

Colts:I. Dye was the go to guy offensively for the Colts hitting the hole hard and eventually breaking on a 34 yard touchdown scamper for a touchdown and adding a PAT.

He rushed for 50 total yards and recorded 3 tackles along with C. Collins, T. Capps, and E. Pendley recorded a team high 4 tackles. On behalf of Gordon County Parks and Recreation we would like to THANK the Colts’ Coaching Staff, parents, and players for participating in the 2011 Football Program.

Bulldogs (39) vs. Tide (0)

Bulldogs: T. Baldwin was the offensive impact player for the Bulldogs rushing for 179 yards on 6 carries and 5 touchdowns leading the Bulldogs to a convincing victory over the Tide. C. Potter recovered a fumble, had 54 all purpose yards, and scored a touchdown adding spark for the Bulldogs offensively and defensively. P. Daniel recorded a game high 5 tackles to lead the Bulldog defense, and T. Witt, and A. Lamb both recorded 3 tackles to sum up the stats for the Bulldogs as they advance to the semifinals.

Tide: T. Mincey rushed for 30 yards and recorded 3 tackles, and J. Kushmaul had 8 yards and recorded 2 tackles to sum up the stats for the Tide.
