The celebration will kick off at 10 a.m. with a free showing of 1958 cult classic “Thunder Road,” starring Robert Mitchum. Guests will be treated to free popcorn and be the first to view a movie on the restored GEM’s big screen. To enhance the walk down memory lane, classic cars will line the street in front of the theatre.
The day will culminate at 8 p.m. when country music favorite Ronnie McDowell takes the stage. Ronnie has an amazing string of hit songs that he has amassed over the years. While Elvis Presley has played a big part in Ronnie McDowell’s musical career, Ronnie continues to entertain audiences with his own blend of romantic intimacy and country excitement.
A select number of Ronnie McDowell tickets are $25 and all other advance tickets are $20 ($5 more at the door). Tickets are on sale at the Gordon County Chamber of Commerce, Red Door Cafe’ and online at www.calhoungem.org.
