CMS golf teams improve to 5-0

The Calhoun Middle School Jacket and Lady Jacket golf teams improved their record to a perfect 5-0 on Monday with a tri-match sweep against Woodland and Cartersville.

The boys defeated Woodland by 33 strokes and Cartersville by 37 strokes after shooting a season best team score of 183.

Caleb Hayes paced the Jackets with a low medalist round of 40 over nine holes. Hunter Norman followed with a round of 46. Austin Cherry shot a 48 and Patrick Box rounded out the team score with a 49.

Joseph Jolly led Woodland with a round of 50 and Trey Carter led the Purple Hurricanes with a round of 44.

The Lady Jackets defeated Woodland by five strokes and Cartersville by 16 after shooting a team score of 105. Katie Rose Rawls led Calhoun with a nine hole score of 51. Kate Mashburn carded a round of 54.

Woodland was paced by Mikayla Knuchel’s low medalist round of 49.
