Ra-Lin Construction and Fox and Brindle worked with subcontractors during the summer break to complete Phase I, which was the demolition prior to the start of the 2011-2012 school year.
“We commend them for working weekends to complete the demolition prior to the students’ arrival back to school to insure a safe environment for our students and staff,” said Calhoun City schools superintendent Michele Taylor.
All of our engineers are just busy working on finishing up these drawings for the entire project. Close to 500 sheet of drawings.
Architects from Southern A & E are currently working with school staff to finalize the middle and high school plans which will be released for proposer’s review in mid September.
Once the construction documents are released, Town Hall Meetings will be held to provide information and answer questions.
It is our goal to seek as much local participation in the project as possible. Additional Town Hall Meetings will be scheduled as needed.
Proposals for all work packages are tentatively scheduled to be received by mid October. Please frequent the school system’s website for requests for proposals and for any new information.

Phase 1 (high school building) is estimated to be completed by Fall 2012. High school Gymnasium is estimated to be complete winter 2012. Phase II (Middle School) will begin summer 2012 and complete fall 2013.
