ATLANTA (AP) — Gov. Nathan Deal has ordered flags to be flown at half-staff at all Georgia government buildings to mark the 10th anniversary of the Sept. 11 terror attacks.

Deal will offer remarks and hold a moment of silence Friday morning at a state Capitol ceremony in memory of the victims of the attacks, and to honor those who serve the nation in uniform.

Deal signed an executive order mandating that all U.S. and Georgia flags be lowered to half-staff on the morning of Friday. Sept. 9. They are to remain there through sunset on Sunday, Sept. 11.

Other Georgia leaders also will be marking the anniversary. U.S. Sen. Johnny Isakson will attend a memorial service at Kennesaw Mountain National Battlefield Park's "Field of Flags."
