Middle School: Calhoun golf teams sweep Woodland

The Calhoun Middle School golf teams swept their second match of the season on Wednesday, Both the Yellow Jackets and Lady Jackets improved to 3-0 win wins over visiting Woodland at Fields Ferry.

The boys team shot their way to victory, winning by 37 strokes. The Jackets shot a team score of 184 to Woodland’s 221.

Austin Cherry led the way for Calhoun with a low medalist round of 43 over nine holes. Caleb Hayes followed with a 45 and Hunter Norman placed third on the team with a 46. Patrick Box shot a 50 to round out the scoring.

Joseph Jolly led Woodland with a 48.

The Lady Jacket golf team edged out a three-stroke victory over Woodland, 103-106.

Kate Mashburn led the team with a round of 51 and Katie Rose Rawls rounded out the scoring with a 52.

Woodland was placed by Mikayla Knuchel’s low medalist round of 45.

Calhoun will be back in action on Monday as they host a tri-match against Woodland and Cartersville at Barnsley Gardens.
