ATLANTA (AP) — Authorities say about 20 people have been treated for heat exposure and exhaustion while waiting in line at a job fair in southwest Atlanta on Thursday.

Atlanta fire officials tell WSB-TV that eight of the people were taken to Grady Memorial Hospital as a result of the heat during Thursday's job fair at Atlanta Technical College.

The event drew thousands of job seekers and backed up traffic in the area. It was sponsored by the Congressional Black Caucus and offered job seminars and meetings with about 80 employers.
