A Calhoun mother and her son used a window to escape a fire in their home this morning.

According to David Hawkins, Gordon County Fire Chief:

No one was injured in a fire that took place off Crestview Drive in Calhoun. Firefighters were at the scene for less than two hours.

Hawkins said the fire was most likely caused by an electrical anomaly in the kitchen area of the home.

Smoke damage is present throughout the home, but the kitchen took the brunt of the fire damage.
