• The Alzheimer’s Association, Georgia Chapter will hold a public input session to solicit views, comments and perspectives from stakeholders in the Alzheimer’s community to in-form the development of a successful National Alzheimer’s Plan. The recommendations and comments expressed during these input sessions, taking place across the country in August, will be collected and shared this fall with officials from the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services, the agency charged with developing a national plan to address the escalat-ing public health crisis. The Input session will be held at the Holiday Inn (Waldorf Room) 879 College Drive, Dalton from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. North Georgia residents, including those living with Alzheimer’s, their caregivers, representatives from the state and local govern-ment, the research community, health systems and long-term care facilities are invited to come.
• Friends of New Echota (FONE) will host the first annual Three Sisters Dinner and Auction to benefit New Echota State Historic Site Saturday, Aug. 13, at The Velo Vineyard in Cal-houn. Doors open at 5 p.m. for social hour and review of auction items. The dinner buffet will begin at 6 p.m., and auction and giveaways begin at 6:30 p.m. Tickets are $12 in advance and $15 after Aug. 5. Tickets are available from any FONE board member and at New Echota.
