A Calhoun man's arrest escalated from marijuana possession to possession of firearm during the commission of a crime when deputies allegedly found a .45 Taurus approximately two feet from the drugs.

According to the Affidavit for Arrest:

Adrian LaBryan Harris, 22, of 156 Holly Hills, Calhoun, is charged with possession of firearm during the commission of a crime and possession of less than one ounce of marijuana.

Harris allegedly had in possession a .45 caliber Taurus and ammunition approximately two feet from suspected marijuana in his immediate control.

Mexico? He has lived in Calhoun his whole life and is African American. I went to school with this guy. We were in the same 1st grade class. Doesnt change the fact that he is in trouble and is a shame; just wanted to clarify.

Was the crime he committed the possession of marijuana? If you roll through a stop sign with a gun in your car, is that "possession of firearm during the commission of a crime?"
