This year’s event, sponsored by the Calhoun Downtown Development Authority, will take place Oct. 29 from 10 a.m. – 4 p.m., but registration for vendors starts Aug. 15.
The fee for a booth this year is $25, and all residents are welcome to participate in the festival, said Suzanne Roland, Downtown Development Authority director.
“Vendors can share whatever they have,” said Roland. “The only things we don’t allow are yard sale booths.”
After a turnout of about 80 vendors last year, Roland said she hopes for even more this year.
“The bigger the better,” she said.
Currently there is enough room for 100 vendors to participate, so reservations should be made soon, said Roland. The deadline for registration is Oct. 14.
The festival will be held at the intersection of Court Street and Wall Street downtown and will include a pie eating contest, live entertainment groups, a Halloween costume contest for children, tractor and pony rides, and arts and crafts, said Roland.
Roland also assures the event will provide entertainment for residents of all ages, “it’s something fun for everyone, kids through adults.”
