School break-ins result in arrest

A Burnett Ferry Road man was charged with a pair of felonies after police say he broke into Alto Park Elementary School on two separate dates.

According to Floyd County police and jail records:

Alexander Alvardo, 18, of 531 S. Burnett Ferry Road, was charged with two counts of felony burglary and two counts of misdemeanor theft by taking.

Alvardo broke into the school July 21 and again Thursday. During the two incidents he took three flash drives, a TV, a digital camera, a refrigerator and assorted school supplies. He remained in jail late Thursday.
