The Meadowdale Mission Alliance restored a local woman's house this summer as the church's yearly mission trip. This is the seventh annual mission trip but it was the first that was local and lasted an entire week.
"Her house doesn't even look close to what it was when we came here over a week ago," said Danny Hesley, one of the project leaders.
Volunteers fixed the metal roof, electrical, plumbing and more. The house got new windows and doors and Wilson got new furniture and other essentials.
Volunteers and community members stood outside her house as Wilson got to see her refurbished home for the first time.
"It's so pretty," she exclaimed as the blindfold was removed from her eyes.
Tears of happieness were shed by many as Wilson addressed the crowd.
"I love it! Thank you everybody," she said.
