The Sheriff’s office is offering a reward for help making an arrest in burglaries at four local churches in the past two weeks.

According to the Gordon County Sheriff’s Office:

The isolated churches that have had their air conditioning units stolen have all been in the eastern Gordon County area; the Fairmount, Ranger and Oakman vicinity.

Detectives have reason to believe that a small red pick-up truck might be involved in the thefts and are urging anyone seeing suspicious activity to call 911.

A reward is available to anyone providing information that leads to the arrest and conviction of anyone responsible for the thefts.

The report states that extra patrols have been sent out to those areas, and detectives are following up on a number of possible leads with the help of the Bartow County Sheriff’s Office.

Bartow County has also had reports of similar thefts during the same time period.

"I am especially concerned and disgusted with anyone who would vandalize or steal from our churches,” said Gordon County Sheriff Mitch Ralston. “I have ordered our Community Crime Prevention Unit and Field detectives to concentrate on arresting the people committing these thefts and bringing them before our courts.”
