Mr. Larry Scott and Mrs. Minnie Steele-Scott of Calhoun announced the engagement and upcoming marriage of their daughter, Christal Scott to Anthony Smiley, son of Mr. and Mrs. John Faceson and Mr. Eugene Smiley of Kansas City, Missouri.

The future bride is the granddaughter of the late Mr. and Mrs. Leroy Steele of Calhoun and the late Mr. and Mrs. A.D. Curtis of Sonoraville. She is the sister of Miss Pamela Darling Mr. Brian Scott of Calhoun.

She is a graduate of Calhoun High School. She graduated with a Bachelor of Science in exercise science from Kennesaw State University in 2004. She recently graduated from Penn Valley College of Health Sciences in Kansas City, Missouri with her degree in physical therapy. She is currently employed as a physical therapist at Truman Medical Center in Kansas City.

The future groom is the grandson of the late Mr. Wilbert Hocks and Mrs. Rose Mary Meeink of Kansas City and the late Mr. Henry Faceson and Mrs. Johnnie Mae Faceson-Jones of Little Rock, Arkansas. He is a graduate of Ruskin High School in Kansas City. He graduated with a Bachelor of Science degree in Natural Resource Management from Langston University in Langston, Okla.

He is currently employed as the senior supervisor of transit operations at KCATA in Kansas City, The wedding is planned for April 2012. Formal invitations will be sent at a later date.
