Fairmount man charged with child molestation

A Fairmount man has been charged with aggravated child molestation that may have occurred in March of this year.

According to the Gordon County Sheriff's Office:

The sheriff's office received a report of alleged child molestation Wednesday April 13 that may have occurred in late March, 2011.

According to the report, "The crimes are alleged to have occurred against a 14-year-old female in the Sonoraville area."

As a result, Jacob Lamar Franklin, 23, of Fairmount has been arrested and charged with aggravated child molestation and child molestation.

Franklin is being held in the Gordon County Jail pending bond proceedings.

"The girl is not the victim here!" Oh, so the 23 year old adult who had sex with a 14 year old minor is the victim (which, by the way, you pretty much admitted he indeed did have sex with the minor, so he can't be a victim of false accusation if we are believe you). Yes, that makes total sense.

I don't need to know all the facts if he really did have sex with a 14 year old. If it was proven he did have sex with her, those are enough facts for me. It doesn't matter how old she acted or how "innocent" she is. 14 year old girls cannot make adult decisions. A 23 year old man can...or should be able to.

It is disgusting that some people think that it is the girl's fault. That is the same kind of mentality that makes people say "that woman shouldn't dress that way if she didn't want raped" in rape cases. Disgusting.

It doesn't matter how old she looks or acts, if teh young woman is under legal age of consent it is statutory rape. That may not be fair in some cases but it is the law, so if he had sex with her in any way or touched her in any way he is guilty

He is NOT guilty. I know this young man. I know each of us have our own views, but you must know all the facts before you judge. The girl looked many years older and DOES NOT carry herself as “the innocent child”. We are all guilty of making a cruel first judgment, but again, you don’t know all the facts. The girl is not the victim here! Please think, this young man could be your son that is wrongly accused!

I do not know this person nor anyone involved but the is one thing that really makes my blood boil is any one who harms children people who are dissabled and the elderly if found guilty by a jury of his peers i say throw the book at that ********
