Gordon County residents will be able to recycle their old car tires and appliances for free during Gordon County’s Tire and Appliance Free Disposal days this Saturday.

For two days only, Gordon County residents will be able to bring up to 10 passenger car tires and old appliances including, refrigerators, stoves, washers and dryers, microwaves, dishwashers, water heaters, and air conditioning units to the landfill for free disposal and recycling.

“This is a service we do for the citizens,” said Randy Dowling, county administrator.

No tire or appliance dealers will be allowed to recycle old materials for free on this day, and no tire rims or trac-tor tires will be accepted.

This annual event will take place on Saturday, April 16, and Saturday, April 23, from 7 a.m. to 1 p.m. for residents of Gordon County. The landfill is located at 1224 Pleasant Hill Road, Ranger, and can be contacted for more infor-mation at (706) 629-5633.
