Confederate Memorial Day to be recognized April 17

The United Daughters of the Confederacy Harriet Gold Chapter #2526 and the Sons of Confederate Veterans General Stand Watie Camp #915 cordially invite the public to attend an observance of Confederate Memorial Day Sunday, April 17, at 2 p.m. Speaker Daryl Jean Gould, president of the Rome – Emma Sansom Chapter #2564 of the United Daughters of the Confederacy, will present “Emma Sansom: Southern Girl Heroine.” The ceremony will take place in the Resaca Memorial Cemetery, located two miles north of Resaca in Gordon County. Everyone is invited to come and remember Confederate ancestors in this, the sesquicentennial anniversary of the Civil War.
