Alexander Witcher, 25, of 129 Meadow Lane in Calhoun was arrested during Operation Innocent Justice, a state-wide initiative by the the GBI and the Internet Crimes Against Children Task Force (ICAC).
On Tuesday, GBI executed 55 search warrants in 40 Georgia counties in connection with the distribution of child pornography over the Internet.
The ICAC task force was created in 2002 by the United States Department of Justice and is placed within the GBI to research and report child pornography distribution online.
These warrants were a result of a five month investigation by the GBI and ICAC which included 27 state agencies, five federal agencies -- Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE), the U.S. Marshals Service and the U.S. Postal Service, and three U.S. Attorney’s offices in the northern, middle and southern districts and the Georgia Attorney General’s office, according to the GBI.
