Baker joined GB&T last year as executive vice president, community/regional executive. He most recently served as the interim president and CEO of GB&T. Baker’s 28 years of banking experience includes serving as CEO for both Regions Bank and Heritage First Bank in Rome, Ga. He began his banking career in Calhoun with Calhoun First National Bank.

Baker received his Bachelor of Science in Accounting/Management and Masters of Business Administration degrees from Jacksonville State University. He is also a graduate of the Louisiana State University Graduate School of Banking of the South.
His community involvement includes his service with the William S. Davies Homeless Shelter, the American Cancer Society and the Greater Rome Chamber of Commerce.
