Harrison is a 34-year banking veteran and previously served as one of the original officers of GB&T. Harrison retired in 2004 as executive vice president but has continued to provide his guidance and leadership to the bank as a member of its local board.
A native of Gordon County, he graduated from Calhoun High School and received his Bachelor’s of Business Administration from Baylor University. He earned his master’s degree from Berry College and attended the Louisiana State University School of Banking.
Harrison’s history of community leadership includes his service as Chairman of the Hospital Authority Board and on the boards of the Heart Fund, the American Cancer Society, the Friends of the Library, the Harris Arts Center and Kiwanis. He also served the Calhoun/Gordon County Chamber of Commerce as Director.
Harrison is married to Cathy who also is a native of Gordon County and has held many leadership roles within the community. She retired from the City of Calhoun as City Administrator following 33 years of service. The Harrisons reside in Gordon County and attend Calhoun First Presbyterian Church where Harrison is an elder and treasurer. They enjoy spending time with their four children and seven grandchildren.
