BGMSAA Tourney: CMS JV girls advance to finals

The CMS girls JV basketball team edged Sonoraville 38-28 in the semi-finals of the BGMSAA tourney on Thursday.

The win improved the Lady Jackets to 15-1 on the season and gave them a chance to win another region championship on Saturday.

Alexis Nalley led Calhoun with 11 points. Ashlyn Barnes added nine points and five assists.

Madeline Murray completed an all-around good night with seven points, eight rebounds, and two blocked shots.

Jana Johns added five points. Brittanie Bakken scored four points and grabbed a team high 12 rebounds.

Ryan Brzozoski scored two points and Morgan McDaniel added five rebounds.

The JV Lady Jackets will play Adairsville Saturday morning at 10 a.m. at Woodland Middle School. The JV boys team and both Calhoun varsity games will follow.

Sonoraville information was not reported.
