Hoops: CHS beats GCHS, SHS sweeps, Sexton breaks record

A 14-0 run to start the game told almost the entire story as the Calhoun Yellow Jackets rolled over Gordon Central 75-51 Friday night in cross-town action.

The Calhoun Lady Jackets defeated Gordon Central 77-57 Friday night for their 13th consecutive win. However, the win was overshadowed, if briefly, by a record breaking night by one Lady Warrior player.

Justin Zachary was a perfect 17-for-17 from the free throw line Friday night to help lead the Sonoraville basketball team to a 69-48 victory over visiting River Ridge.

The Lady Phoenix of Sonoraville defeated River Ridge 56-49 at home Friday evening behind the play of Brittany Redd.
