The Voluntary Action Center in Calhoun raised $1,000 for their Community Kitchen project over the past several months as they auctioned off hundreds of collectible Barbie Dolls. The proceeds from the sale and auction of these Barbies will be used as needed for the Community Kitchen, said Stacy Long, director at the VAC. The Community Kitchen is set to open in 2011. For more information on ways to help with the Community Kitchen contact the VAC at 706-629-7283.
