Calhoun Firefighters responded to a vehicle fire on Jones Road in the Red Bud area this afternoon, officials stated.

According to Sgt. Sandi Townsend with the Calhoun Police Department:

There was a vehicle on fire in the 100 block of Jones Road around 3:30 p.m.

Calhoun Firefighters responded to the fire and extinguished it by around 4:15 p.m.

No one was injured, officials stated.

According to a neighbor EK West, she heard a car horn going off for about 10 minutes before the "sonic boom" of the car exploding.

"I saw the police and fire trucks go by before the explosion happened," said West.
