Mr. William Max Holt, 66, of Sugar Valley, passed away Sunday, February 3, 2013 at Gordon Health Care Center. He was born in Gordon County on June 16, 1946, son of the late Roy Max Holt and the late Elaine Kirby Holt. He was preceded in death by a brother-in-law, Wilburn “Tooter” Tate.

Survivors include a son, Jonathon Max Holt of Calhoun; two daughters, Libby Temple and her husband Billy of Plainville, GA, and Lynn Holt of Wyoming; a sister, Frances Tate of Sugar Valley; grandchildren, Jericho and Joshua Temple, Holli Holt Walker, and Kayla Riel; nephews, Andy and Steve Tate; and special friends, Larry Kirby and Eddie Bishop.

Funeral services for Mr. William Max Holt will be held Wednesday, February 6 at 2 p.m. from the chapel of Max Brannon and Sons Funeral Home, with Bro. Lamar Hand officiating. Interment will follow in the Old Sugar Valley Methodist Church Cemetery. Honorary pallbearers will include the staff of Gordon Health Care Center.

The Holt family will receive friends at Max Brannon and Sons Funeral Home Wednesday from noon until the funeral hour of 2 p.m.
