Mr. Wilson was born in Calhoun, Georgia, August 23, 1946, son of the late Norman Troy Wilson and Marie Gibbs Cooper. He is a veteran of the U.S. Army, having served in the Vietnam War. Mr. Wilson was a member of New Life Ministries and enjoyed watching car shows and spending time with his family. He is preceded in death by his parents; and a sister, Roberta Cooper.
He is survived by his wife of 44 years, Audrey Morrow Wilson of Adairsville; two daughters and sons-in-law, Kelly and Bruce Parker of Adairsville and Christy and Marty Simpson of Adairsville; 5 grandchildren, Adam West, Andrew Buttram, Ashley Parker, Lucas Simpson, and Gavin Parker; 11 brothers and sisters, Brenda Byrd, Lanny Wilson, Danny Wilson, Kenny Wilson, Larry Wilson, Judy Haney, Randall Cooper, Greg Cooper, Jeff Cooper, Troy Wilson, and Patricia Whitfield; a special niece and nephews, Sara Rickett, Russ Morrow, Ryan Morrow, and Billy Morrow.
Funeral services will be held Sunday, January 20, 2013, at 3 p.m. at the Adairsville Church of God, Adairsville with Rev. Steve Morrow and Rev. Kyle Morrow officiating. The family will receive friends at the funeral home Saturday, January 19, 2013, from 5 – 9 p.m.
Pallbearers include Jeff Gulledge, Jerry Gulledge, Chris Gulledge, Jason Buttram, Ray West, Anthony Jackson, Glenn Wilson, and Larry Wilson, Jr.
